Katie Riley and COFI; aiming to serve

     Last week’s speaker, Katie Riley, spoke on behalf of the children of Washington County, in particular the COFI (Children’s Opportunity Fund Initiative).
     Riley explained that the Commision on Children and Families is being shut down, and that the programs offered through their offices are going to be more and more difficult to provide, as volunteer organizations will need to pick them up.
     The COFI will allow a study to be completed in the county that will help identify the best uses for money for youth programs.
