The Optimist Club of Hillsboro is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior from Hillsboro High School in the name of Ross Mathews. Mr. Mathews has been a long standing member of the Hillsboro Optimist Club and has held a variety of local, district and international leadership positions with the Optimist Organization.
Requirements are as follows:
- Must be a Hillsboro High School senior or a student who is home schooled who lives in the Hillsboro High attendance area.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A US citizen or permanent resident.
- A student who has been accepted to a 2 or 4 year accredited program located in the US with a major in a human health or mortuary science career.
- The student will submit a 300-500 word essay on why they have chosen their career path and what events in their life have made them select this career.
