Some Club Programs

Bicycle Fair Rodeo

This annual event is a bicycle training for young kids with the NW Bicycle Safety Council. We set up an obstacle course for children to practice on, have trained riders check children’s bikes for safety, and give tips on how and where it is best to ride in the Hillsboro community. In the past free helmets have been donated for this event and were given to youth that were able to take part. Come join us in keeping kids safe on bicycles. This years’ Committee Chair is Club Member Tony Montes.

Boys and Girl's Club Tree Lot Fundraiser

In December of each year, the Hillsboro Optimist Club volunteers there time on several days to operate the Christmas Tree Lot located at Murphy’s Furniture. The tradition is written about on the Murphy’s Furniture web-site, but volunteers are needed to take money, load trees, and gather new customers to the lot each year.

Bowling Fundraiser

A new tradition for the club, the January Bowling Fundraiser will be a way to raise funds for the various programs the club sponsors. The Committee Chair for this year is Club Secretary Tammi Hilp. This year’s fundraiser helped raise over $200 for the Hillsboro Optimist Club’s scholarship programs.
