Home Plate Supporting Hillsboro Youth

Bridget Daniel, Executive Director of
Hillsboro's Home Plate
Today's guest speaker, Bridget Daniel, Executive Director from Home Plate, educated members on the growth of the organization since her last visit, as well as the continued need in the community.

The organization in the last two years has opened up a second location for youth in Hillsboro, allowing access to schooling, parenting support, employment opportunities, housing, and more. The children that take advantage of the resources of the organization are those that have fallen through the cracks in the education and social system.

In Hillsboro alone this year, Home Plate has helped over 750 youth, up from last years 405 youth. Their new location in Beaverton is in partial response to Beaverton having the highest number of homeless youth in the state for the third year in a row.

Support for the organization from Hillsboro Optimist Club members can be in monetary donations, or in donating your time to provide meals, make connections to employers or landlords, or to help out with special events such as the Holiday Party on Dec. 17th.  To help out, contact Bridget Daniel at Home Plate.
