  • Macy's Day Parade, Chairperson: Kathy Jungels - Friday, Nov. 23, help work off those Thanksgiving treats by showing your support for family-oriented events as a volunteer for the day. Volunteers will leave from the Hillsboro Senior Center in member vans and report to downtown Portland to help with the parade. The need is great for this event, with an estimated 20 volunteers needed for the day. E-mail Kathy to sign-up.

Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. volunteers are needed to greet tree shoppers and load trees. Cookies and cocoa will be dropped off in the morning, and pamphlets will be available for the John Bareis Essay Contest as well as new member forms for any interested volunteers/customers. All proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club. E-mail Monte to sign-up.
  • Recreation Center Scholarship, Chairperson: Sarah Newton A brand new volunteer opportunity for members! The Board of Directors approved moving forward with the project to award youth with recreation center passes for the summer in 2013.
