With the recent passing of Hillsboro Optimist Club members, special tributes to their work are a way of honoring their volunteerism. Optimist International offers a memorial badge for members that have passed, and the price for each badge is $100.
Discussions are continuing on several items to consider with this proposal:
- Should their be a new banner, specifically made 'In Honor of' badges?
- Should their be criteria that needs to be met by the member to be placed on the banner?
- How will money be raised to purchase the patch?
- Should the spouses/families of the members be invited to participate in the application of the badge?
